Mastopexy

Mastopexy

Mastopexy called breast lift operation, is applied to patients with partially emptied and sagging breasts. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the breasts grow and shrink again, reducing skin elasticity, loosening the chest and deflating the gravity, displacing the ideal breasts. The reason for Mastopexy surgery is to restore the breast contents to their original places and to create a breast that is alive. Appropriate surgery is determined by looking at the sagginess of the nipple and the fullness of the breast. The aim is always to perform the operation with the shortest acceptable operation trail. In patients with minimal sagging, only areola circumference can be recovered. The next choice is the operation technique which is called vertical mammoplasty with a vertical watch extending around the nipple circumference and under the chest. Generally, even in very saggy breasts, I perform the procedure by using a method I developed by leaving only a vertical trace (not strictly using the inverse “t)).

By using a breast prosthesis in appropriate cases, a good 2-3 cm incision from the nipple can be achieved. The operation lasts for 2 hours under general anesthesia. In principle, one day stay in hospital. It is not a very painful procedure, there is no problem of suturing, the patient can return to daily life in a few days.
